Contest: Show us YOUR “Faces of Chicago”
PictureSummer has not ended lazily for most of us Chicagoans. We have been sandbagging our homes, wadding through the streets, and praying that our sump pumps will continue pumping water away from our precious belongings.
So we, at Chicago Moms Blog, think that you, the hard worked and sometimes weary, women of Chicago (and the suburbs) deserve a reward. Its just a little something to say thanks for welcoming us to the blogging community, for allowing us to be a voice for the City we all love, for arguing with us and defending us on topics like adoption or abortion, breast milk, lead toys, Wi-Fi and Porn, Vaccinations. And even some of you have fought to get us on Oprah (yes we still want that!).
Sunday, as I stood looking at the The Crown Fountain (Faces of Chicago) at Millennium Park for the first time, I was awestruck by the faces and what they represented to me in a city as large as Chicago; community.
“I believe in the anonymous people building up a city,” the Spanish artist told the Sun-Times. “They represent all of us, they become symbols — they could be your son or girlfriend or grandfather.”
It’s time to show us your faces.

Send your best Summer 2007 Photo to Marcie at Chicago Moms Blog. Please email the pictures to pickelfam@yahoo.com with the subject “Faces” by September 15, 2007. Also, please leave a comment below that you have submitted a picture. If you have a personal blog, please feel free to put up the picture and a message about the contest. The Chicago Moms Writers will vote on the best photos and we announce 10 winners by September 20, 2007.
